Roasting nuts and peanuts is an often occurring process. In this process the nuts and peanuts are roasted in vegetal oil. During the roasting process the nuts and peanuts get a more intense taste and smell. Next to this the nuts and peanuts become deliciously crispy and get an intense colour.

Flavouring is the process of adding one or more additional tastes for an ultimate taste experience. The best known example of flavouring is the addition of salt to peanuts and nuts, but these additions can also be other herbs and spices, for example paprika.

Dry roasting is the heating of nuts and/or peanuts without the use of oil. Similar to 'regular' roasting the taste gets more intense and nuts and/or peanuts get a crispy bite. An advantage of dry roasting is that the nuts and/or peanuts are less fat than the 'regular' roasted varieties.

During the coating process nuts and/or peanuts are covered with a crispy dough layer. This coating can be provided with a wide variety of different tastes. Famous examples of coated nuts are cocktail nuts, katjang pedis and dry roasted peanuts.
